Instructions

Follow the steps and taste along the way.

  1. Prepare the pears

Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Wash the pears, halve them lengthwise and scoop out the cores with a teaspoon. Drizzle the cut surfaces with lemon juice.

  2. Mix the filling

Coarsely chop the walnuts. In a bowl, mix them with the oats, melted butter, honey and cinnamon until the oats are evenly coated.

  3. Fill the pears

Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in a small baking dish. Divide the mixture among the hollowed centers and press it down gently.

  4. Bake until tender

Pour 100 ml of water into the dish, just enough to cover the bottom. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 190 °C, until the pears are tender and the filling is golden on top. Check them with the tip of a knife; larger or firmer pears may need a few extra minutes.

  5. Serve

Remove the dish from the oven and let the pears stand for 5 minutes. Serve warm, one half per portion, with a little of the juice from the bottom of the dish.
